At approx. 08:32 hrs, Southwest Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to a Chimney Fire at 6205 W. Denton Rd. Southwest Fire responded to the incident with 13 volunteers along with SW 31, 32, 43, 61, 41, and 11. SW 31 was first on location to find Heavy smoke coming out of the chimney, and went to investigate. Upon further investigation SW 31 crew found a fire in the elbow of the chimney located in the garage. All units worked to clean and remove the hot ash from the inspection area of the chimney. Crews also inspected to make sure there was no extension into the attic space, or soffit area of the house. The hot ash was removed from the chimney and the owner was advised to have the chimney inspected before next use. All Southwest units were back in service at 09:37 hrs.
